Answer The Call: Jay-Z MSG Live <<---View Concert Here
Last night, Sepptember 11, 2009, Jay-Z united Hip Hop heads everywhere with the benefit concert of a lifetime. The "Answer The Call" concert was held at the world famous Madison Square Garden. All proceeds of this benefit concert are going to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Childrens Benefit Fund. It marked the 8th anniversary of the most devistating attack on American soil in history. With the release of "The Blueprint 3" earlier this week, tonight also marked the 8th Anniversary of "The Blueprint" album.
Special guests incuded Ms. Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Beyonce, Rihanna, John Mayer, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, Santigold, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Swizz Beats and Memphis Bleek.

The concert opened with "Empire State of Mind". Although there was no Alicia Keys, that background singer definitely held her own. He couldn't have chose a better way to begin the Ultimat Concert in the Ultimate Arena. From there the show was priceless. Classic hits like "Can't Knock the Hustle", "99 Problems", "Heart of the City" and "P.S.A.". New hits like "D.O.A.", "Brooklyn Go Hard", "Run This Time" and "Already Home". In memory of September 11th there was a moment of silence for the 9/11 victims and then the chorous to Blueprint 3's "Forever Young" while we watched the photos of the victims and the scrolled the NYC Skyline shaped video screen.

Of course he had to end the show just as good as he brung it in. For the finale, Jay performed "Encore". He was joined on stage by Diddy, Memphis Bleek and Kanye West. Diddy even had to show the Living Legend his respect. "I done seen a lot of sh-- in my life," Diddy said. "But I never seen what happened here tonight. Make some noise for Jay-Z."
This was a great day in Hip Hop. This was a great day in life. This was a great way to show the world that Hip Hop really does have a heart. That we really do care about what happens in out world. We can make a difference. As a fan of hip hop, this is definetly one of our greatest moments that should be cherished. We watched someone that went from Marcy projects to selling out the greatest arena in the world in less than 15 minutes. There's not a lot if people in music period, let alone Hip Hop, that can do that. This goes to show how far we've come as a culture. THANK YOU MR. SHAWN CARTER.
